The 24 Hours Before Test Time

WOOHOO!
Your test is just around the corner.

This is not the time to cram.  Trust that the prep you have completed will serve you.

Thursday: Push Through

Go hard through Thursday, if you’d like.  If your tutor has assigned homework, power through that list (it’s always in priority order!), as your schedule allows.

Friday: Rest & Review

When Friday arrives, you need to mostly rest.  You probably have school that day, fine.   At this point, you hopefully have clear, organized notes of your personal sticky points (strategies you want top-of-mind, errors you used to make like forgetting to factor, etc.).  Review those notes today.

By 4 or 5 p.m. Friday, it’s time to relax.  We want our brain’s “cell phone battery” fully charged come Saturday morning.  Meditate.  Bubble bath.  Nature walk.  Laugh with friends (but don’t stay out late!).  Paint. Breathe. Go to sleep early.

Saturday: The Pro-Athlete Mindset

Saturday morning, you’ll want to wake up with plenty of time to treat your mind and body as if you are a pro-athlete.  Wake with time for a healthy breakfast, some movement, a light review of your study guide, meditation, and time for the logistics of arriving at your testing center on time.  Movement can range from 5-15 minutes of stretching, brisk walking, or even jogging.  When we wake up our bodies, we wake up our brains.

Have fun. Don’t let any one question or series of questions discourage you.  Trust the work you’ve done.  Feel your butt in the chair and your feet on the floor.  Breathe.  And go do what you plan on doing:  kick butt on your test.

You’ve got this!
